I purchased this router to replace one that was 8 years old. I had been having service problems with our provider and intended to upgrade. Our provider came out to test the service and the speed for this router was less than half of the speed of the one that was 8 years old. I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for a fast network.

I found the setup routine for this router a bit different from what I have encountered with Cisco, D-Link, etc. An Internet connection is required to set it up as a router in addition to the DSL modem. Also, while the screen seems to allow you to enter a different SSID and password, you discover at the next step that the pre-installed entries are the ones you must use. A bit frustrating, but acceptable.

But I wish there were written instructions inside instead of just very small pictures. I had to go online to get info on the way to install, but after that it was very easy- actually the easiest thing I have ever done network wise. Setup was a breeze

I actually bought this router because I thought my old Linksys G router had died but later determined the problem was with my ISPs modem. With the problem resolved I thought about returning the Belkin router but decided to give it a trial period. I discovered a noticeable increase in response both from the internet and to wireless devices on my LAN. It is easy to setup, compact in design and has a highly visible blue light that indicates LAN connection or an orange light when a connection problem is present. I now have a Linksys G router for sale.
